At Backbone Connect, we put a premium on our people. We hire the best people we can find and work with them to create a development path that continuously improves and challenges them. By doing this we think we have created a culture that supports innovation, recognises high performance and rewards achievement.
So what happened when we put that to the test and got Investors In People involved to measure and prove our success? How would we stand up to the scrutiny of an independent specialist that has judged thousands of some of the biggest businesses in the world?
How did we do?
We are delighted to announce that not only did we achieve Gold Standard accreditation, but our score placed us in the top 10% of all IIP accredited organisations!
In their report, Investors In People complimented our focus on our employees and our drive for development and improvement.

What do our staff have to say about the business?
One of the great parts of the report was seeing the feedback from our employees themselves. As part of the process, total anonymity was assured, so staff can be candid about what its like to work here. Not only did our employee appreciate the culture and working environment we have been working hard to create, but they also clearly represented our core company values. It’s fantastic to hear.
All of us at Backbone are incredibly proud of this recognition. Employee development and building a great working culture are very important to us, so the Gold accreditation is a great measure of success. We’ll continue to put our people at the heart of everything we do. Plus it looks like we’ll have to go for Platinum next time!

James Golding, Marketing and Business Change Manager at Backbone Connect, is an experienced marketer with over a decade spent working in the technology industries. James is CIM qualified and combines a marketing focus with accreditations in business management and business change from educational leaders like the Cranfield Business School.
James’s role at Backbone Connect is to manage the marketing activity of the business, and to support business change projects. As a fast-paced, high growth business, Backbone Connect constantly requires new and different marketing initiatives combined with projects that deliver new process, automation and improvement.
