On the top of the Empire State Building

After a lot of sweat and tears (no blood that we’re aware of!), 5 members of the Backbone Connect team completed our latest charity event. On behalf of Action on Hearing Loss and their Fitness Without Borders fundraising series, we climbed the 102 stories, 1860 steps that (virtually) took us to the top of one of New York’s most recognisable landmarks – the Empire State Building…
Now we’re used to a competitive market place, so naturally each of our staff wanted the best time! But after trading the lead with each other a few times Salesman Andrew Bonner stormed into the best time of just over 14 minutes, destroying the competition! A great afternoon for the team and a few deserved drinks afterwards (although a seated area was needed, no standing at the bar for a while!).
Now for the important bit – we’re still fundraising to get to the last part of our £520 target, with less than £100 to go! You can reward our sweaty endeavour here: https://www.justgiving.com/companyteams/BackboneConnect .It’s a very worthy charity so please give generously.
Action on Hearing Loss is the largest UK charity helping people confronting deafness, tinnitus and hearing loss to live the life they choose. Action on Hearing Loss enables them to take control of their lives and remove the barriers in their way, giving people support and care, developing technology and treatments, and campaigning for equality.
