Telemarketing Manager / Academy Manager – up to £35,000 basic salary (dependant on experience) plus great benefits. Total package worth up to £60,000 including uncapped OTE commission plan and bonus system

The role – what we’re looking for

As part of our exciting investment plans in Sales and Marketing this year we are creating the Backbone Connect Sales Academy. This department will become a central pillar of lead generation within the business and will be responsible for the training of junior sales people to eventually progress into our Sales Team. All of this makes this role a critical part of our plans this year.

The Academy Manager will manage the success of this new department, with the full support of a strong and experienced sales and marketing management team. The structure, process, tools and training will be provided, as well as the opportunity to help shape the success and strategy of the department with your own input and experience.

In terms of responsibility, this role will help build and manage the department to ensure its success. It will cover complete ownership of all lead generation targets and goals, as well as the recruitment, personal development and day-to-day management of the Academy Team.

 

The person – who we’re looking for

Are you an experienced telesales team leader looking for the right place for your skills? Are you passionate about team development and working with others to progress their careers as well as yours?

We’re looking for someone with the hunger and enthusiasm needed to motivate a junior team. Someone who can teach the lessons they have learned and who has the skills to successfully support and empower a team. We’re looking for you to take ownership of this new department, to take advantage of and use the support you will have from inside the business to build a foundation for continued success.

 

Ideal skill-set and experience:

  • Strong personal experience and proven track record in telesales lead generation and appointment setting
  • Exceptional team leadership/membership skills. This role will require you to manage, empower and support junior sales people. Patience and support are key
  • Excellent communication skills used across the business
  • Experience of working in an organised and goal-orientated environment
  • Strong IT skills and experience with using standard office software as well as CRM systems
  • Self-motivated, focused and resilient

 

Core tasks:

  • Day-to-day management and coaching of a team of junior telesales people, setting the standard, showcasing what good looks like and working on the development of the team into a slick telemarketing engine
  • Responsibility for delivering the set KPIs, goals and objectives of the Academy as a department
  • Coaching individuals and building a strong team dynamic as a new department within the business
  • Working closely with the Sales and Marketing teams in delivering consistent lead generation
  • Using the CRM system to measure and report on individual and team performance
  • Managing the focus of the Academy call activity from a wide range of sources – regular email campaigns, qualified CRM data, website visitors and other advanced lead gen tools
  • Develop Academy team members, through our progression programme, into Junior sales people
