We’ve been working on a cool new look for Backbone Connect. But, as we’ve found out, Branding is more than just a pretty logo.
In January we kicked off with a few internal discussions about how we could make ourselves look like the company we are. The first job was to get a handle on what we really are as a business. Our personality.
We turned to super brand experts Liquid. These guys know their stuff – they recently launched The Shard and have worked with some of the world’s leading technology brands. A couple of workshops later, some customer interviews and a few odd questions (for example, what animal would we be?!) and we had our brand identity nailed.

With that in that bag, the next job was to get some art work done. The logo was going, colours too. We opted for a complete overhaul.
We wanted the logo to convey a solid, structure, robust and technical sense.
If you look closely you’ll spot a B (for Backbone), C (for Connect,) a Colo Rack and some servers.
