The Slough 2 facility is ideal if you’re looking data centre space outside of the capital, with close links to the city, the M25 motorway and Heathrow airport.

Location

Our Slough 2 data centre is situated in the Slough Trading Estate, approximately five minutes drive from Slough town centre. If you choose to visit by car there is ample parking onsite, and the M4 motorway is roughly 10 minutes drive away. The M25 motorway is 15 minutes drive, with fast connections to Heathrow airport. Slough rail station is also close-by, with national rail links and a journey time into London of around 15 minutes. Local amenities include a selection of shops and eateries in the nearby town centre.

Connectivity

You can choose which provider you use as the centre is carrier neutral, offering services from BT, Zayo (AboveNet), Level 3, Verizon, euNetworks, SSE, Colt and Cogent. You’ll also get access to multiple fibre providers, ensuring carrier resiliency, separacy and commercial competition. In addition the centre has low fibre latency to London.

Power

For your peace of mind power is provided via dual 33kV incomers and a dedicated onsite primary substation. It’s also backed up by modern UPS and generator systems to at least N+1 configuration.

Building

You can count on plenty of space in this state of the art facility that covers 230,000 sq ft, with 92,000 sq ft of available technical space. You’ll also benefit from the latest in efficient power and cooling infrastructure, which delivers a market leading PUE of 1.25.

The plant (including generators) is housed externally on a purpose built deck, which allows for fast installation and easy upgrading.

Security staff are onsite 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and all are vetted to BS 7858, guaranteeing your data and equipment are kept safe. The centre has a 3M perimeter fence, with internal and external CCTV and intruder detection systems.
