Our Romford North colocation facility is located on the eastern edge of London just inside the M25.

Location

The facility is based in the town of Romford in Essex, just outside of London. Close to the A12, the data centre can be reached easily by car and has plenty of parking onsite. The centre is also close to the local train station, with a 20 minute journey time to Central London and fast access links to the rest of the UK. Local amenities include a selection of shops, restaurants and cafes.

Connectivity

You have the choice of provider in this carrier neutral data centre, and can opt for services from Level 3, Colt, KPN, Viatel, BT, Virgin Media and C&W Worldwide. The site has three diverse duct routes between the site perimeter and telco rooms, so carriers only need to link from the public highway to the site perimeter.

Power

You have flexibility over power requirements, as the centre offers available power from 1kW to 10kW per rack footprint. An onsite primary substation provides 28MVA with dual 33KV power feeds. The site also has parallel redundant 2N 11V connection to EDF’s 33KV bulk supply point. Power supplies are provided to the technical hall via metering circuit breakers.

Building

Your data is well protected in a very secure facility with CCTV surveillance and security staff onsite 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, all vetted to BS 7858. Staff carry out regular patrols and rigorous security checks, and access to the site is controlled via PIN/Prox cards, with additional biometric authentication within high security areas.

The data centre was built and is operated to a Tier III standard and benefits from resilient infrastructure, including onsite power generators and UPS systems ensuring uninterrupted power to your servers. The gross internal area at the centre covers 32,000 sqm.
