The Global Switch 2 data centre has been designed and built to an enhanced Tier III specification and benefits from diverse feeds from the national grid – considered to be the most resilient available to any infrastructure in the UK.

Location

This facility offers you great links to the heart of the city and the financial district, and is based in the Docklands area of East London. Situated about 5 minutes walk from East India station on the Docklands Light Railway (DLR), you’re only a short ride from the centre of the city. Local amenities include a selection of shops eateries and the Docklands Travelodge hotel.

Connectivity

You can choose which provider is best for you, as the centre is carrier neutral and well populated with multiple carriers and IP transit providers, meaning we can guarantee you excellent connectivity. You can choose from national and international MPLS, and ethernet access is available from 10Mb to 10Gb. You’ll also benefit from connection the Backbone Connect network and Metro Ring.

Power

You’ll get flexibility when it comes to your power requirements, as the centre offers available power from 1kW to 8kW per rack footprint. The facility also has onsite diesel tanks that guarantee 50 hours at full capacity via emergency power generators, safeguarding against power outages and reducing the chance of down time. The centre offers a minimum N+1 redundancy on power supply and total available power within the facility is 9.5MVA.

Building

Your infrastructure is in good hands with a dedicated facilities management team monitoring the premises 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Temperature and humidity levels in the technical space are monitored and kept at industry accepted standards, and also maintained within energy efficient parameters. High sensitivity smoke detectors are present in the return airflow of CCUs and the centre has a gas fire suppression system that uses Argonite/Inergen.

Your racks are also very secure, with security personnel onsite 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can visit the site 24/7 and entry is restricted through a full electronic access control system.
