24x7x365 Onsite Security with additional Remote Monitoring of the CCTV and alarm systems. Proximity access control systems on all doors ensure access to authorised personnel only.
The facility has its own onsite substation supplied by diverse routes from the national grid.
Generator and UPS backed electricity supply to the building ensures continuous running in the event of a mains grid failure. Onsite fuel for 36 hours and a 12 hour refuelling contract allows the building to run indefinitely without mains electricity.
Downflow (Underfloor) air conditioning has been designed to be able to cool 130% of the total heat load for the data floor. The capacity is designed such that the failure of one unit can be handled by the other units.
Full Underfloor water leak detection system to allow for fast detection and rectification of water leaks.
Full VESDA system provides for early detection of smoke and heat so that any potential fire is detected before it can develop further. An FM-200 fire suppression system is in place for the unlikely event a fire does occur. All under floor cabling is low smoke and the under floor void is protected by FM-200.

CCTV

Our Data Centre uses both internal and external cameras throughout to make sure all the angles are covered. Linked to a central security system which is controlled and monitored by our on-site security personnel 24 hours a day, any camera can be interrogated instantly to review what just went by, be it a scavenging fox or unwelcome intruder.

Proximity Card Readers

Every person who comes to our Data Centre, including all our staff, is issued with a security pass which is associated directly with them. This allows us to monitor the movements of every individual throughout the building and where necessary restrict access to areas of the Data Centre.

Intruder Detectors

When not in use, all areas of the Data Centre are protected by Passive Infrared Sensors (PIRs) and door contacts, all of which are linked to a police and key holder response system

Fire Detection and Suppression

Using a combination of Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus (VESDA), traditional smoke detectors and a high-tech FM-200 fire suppression system, our Data Centre will not only detect but automatically respond to any smoke or fire related threat.

Lockable Racks & Cages

All the racks we provide our clients with come as standard with secure combination locks that can be set by clients themselves. For clients requiring additional security, caged areas can be constructed on the data floor.

Sensible Protocols

Security technology without strictly enforced protocols can only provide a certain amount of protection; we’re just as passionate about practising best practice. All visitors and deliveries have to be declared through our internal ticketing system before they arrive otherwise they’re turned away without exception. Employees and clients are placed on a permanent access list which grants them access 24 hours a day, 7 days a week but photographic ID is still required for each visit.

Security People

We believe best practice is having security professionals on site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year protecting the Data Centre and your data. Our security guards are sourced, trained and managed through a professional security company which is both SIA and NSI approved (the Security Industry Authority & National Security Inspectorate respectively). With regular patrols of the facility and training in the use of all our security features, our 24 hour security guards are the foundation for us being able to ensure your peace of mind.
